Biological Extraction

At GreenEwe Dental, we prioritize preserving our patients’ teeth, but sometimes it’s not feasible due to several factors such as severe infection, a cracked or fractured tooth, or insufficient structure above the gum. In such cases, our dental experts utilize safe and effective extraction techniques to remove the affected tooth.

About Biological Tooth Extraction

At Greenewe Dental, we prioritize keeping our patients’ teeth vital, but in some cases, an extraction may be the best choice for overall health. We perform extractions biologically, using atraumatic techniques to minimize trauma to the area and preserve as much bone as possible. Our goal is to reduce the inflammatory response and promote optimal healing outcomes.

After the tooth is removed, we clean the area thoroughly and perform a curettage to remove any infection. Dr. Yani carefully removes the ligament tissue within the socket to prevent the development of cavitations. To decontaminate the extraction site, we use a combination of laser and ozone treatments to kill any remaining microbes and promote healing. We also offer bone graft options, including Socket Graft Injectable, a calcium phosphate biocement that helps form a biocompatible matrix for healthy bone to develop in the socket.

Our post-extraction care includes various ozone treatments to promote healing and reduce the risk of complications such as dry sockets. At Greenewe Dental, we are committed to providing our patients with safe, effective, and biocompatible dental treatments. The Procedure Steps:

  1. Diseased, infected, and/or inflamed tooth is removed with atraumatic minimally-invasive techniques.

  2. The tooth socket, or extraction site, is thoroughly cleaned of infected tissue and debris from extraction.

  3. The periodontal ligament is removed to promote proper bone healing.

  4. A blood clot formed in the socket and instructions were given for care extraction site following the procedure.

Post-Op Care

Oxygen-Ozone and Healing Cocktail

At GreenEwe Dental, we recommend a post-extraction healing injection with medical-grade oxygen ozone to sterilize the area and promote healing. This safe and effective treatment induces a positive, biochemical/physiologic change in affected tissues by creating an oxygen-rich environment. Medical-grade oxygen-ozone gas is a powerful sterilizer that can kill/neutralize bacteria, viruses, fungi, mold, parasites, and other harmful organisms.

Our ozone injections are paired with therapeutic healing injections of procaine, B12, folate, and a combination of homeopathic remedies like lymphomyosot and traumeel/zeel to address acute and chronic inflammation and promote lymphatic drainage. This combination of injections delivers vital nutrients, clears toxins, upregulates the immune system, stimulates lymphatic flow, and promotes overall healing. Simple Aftercare Instructions

Here are some of the steps you should follow:

  1. Place gauze over the extraction site and bite firmly to help control bleeding. Replace the gauze as needed for 30 minutes or until bleeding has stopped.
  2. The anesthetic will wear off in a few hours, so be careful not to bite your lips, tongue, or cheek while you are numb.
  3. For at least 24 hours after the procedure, avoid smoking, drinking through a straw, blowing your nose, excessive spitting, vigorous rinsing, and hot foods/liquids to prevent dislodging the forming of blood clot and minimize bleeding.
  4. Use only non-aspirin pain medication (such as Tylenol, Motrin, or Advil) as needed for pain relief. Please consult with your health provider before using any natural remedies.
  5. After 24 hours, begin to rinse gently with warm salt water to promote healing. Mix 1 cup water with ¼ teaspoon salt and rinse every four hours.

By following these instructions, you can help ensure a speedy and comfortable recovery. If you have any questions or concerns about your post-extraction care, please don’t hesitate to contact GreenEwe Dental for assistance.

Optional and additional way to promote a faster healing process:

  1. Ozone is used in area around the extracted tooth to disinfect and promote healing.

  2. Biological Homeopathic remedies are injected in the tissues around the extraction.

  3. Ozonated Olive Oil for post-procedure healing at home.

  4. Homeopathic options for pain and inflammation control

  5. Ear and/or Nasal Ozone treatments to promote further healing done over follow-up visits (1-6 appts).
